LETTER TO MY VALENTINE

A little detour! I remember then, how our Junior Secondary School teachers would roll our names in pieces of paper and tell us to pick each other’s names for valentine celebration then we’d exchange gifts.

The excitement was palpable. I mean we saved from the beginning of the year right till the point when we had to buy the gift. It was such a romance in blissful innocence.







Okay fast forward to the present. I’ll let you imagine what the Valentine celebration has come to. It is Valentine today and I am going to write a lovely letter to myself(feel free to put yourself in this position, view it as a letter to yourself). I mean who else can give me all the love I want if not me?  I am totally in love with myself!

Dear Me,How has the first quarter of 2014 been treating you? I hope you haven’t been put out by the current closure of your school? These things shouldn't weigh you down you know? Just keep being yourself.
I haven’t said this in a long time, but you are an amazing, beautiful, intelligent, down to earth, polite, impatient and awesome young person.You have the world in front of you, you have amazing friends, you have a loving family and for a valentine gift, I will treat you to an ice cream cone today! Complete with all the flavours you desire.Don’t be deterred, don’t get lazy, keep your head above water and make 2014 count. It is your year of amazing success and gloryBefore I forget, you should take yourself to the cinema at least once before this month runs out and give yourself an awesome treat.You are beautiful inside out.Keep rocking!Just for dramatic effect- you are the sugar in my tea, the apple of  my eyes, the butter in my bread and the flowers in my flower vase!Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet and so are you!
